Grand Master Sen Soshitsu XV´s visit to CSFR
The Grand Master of Urasenke school, Sen Soshitsu XV, and his suit, arrived in CSFR in 1991, to present The Way of Tea during his 4 day stay.
On June 24, Oiemoto (the head of the family) visited the president´s office at the Prague Castle where he met president Havel. After the meeting he served tea to Mr. Havel and to Vera Caslavska (Olympic gold medal winner) in the Golden Hall of the Prague Castle.
On June 25, there was a tea ceremony held in the Knights Hall in Valdstejn Palace. The invited guests were received by the ministry of culture, Mr. Milan Uhde. Dr. Sen had a speech in this inspirative hall on one of the traditional forms of serving tea on a horse. At the same time he expressed his thanks for the occasion, on which he could serve tea to president Havel.
On the last day (June 26) the visit culminated in tea sacrifice to the prayer for the world peace at St. Nicholas Church in the Old Town Square. Later the whole event continued with the participation of public back in the Knights Hall. The presentation of Master Sen and his disciples were interpreted by the chairman of the Czech-Japanese association - Mr. Karel Fiala.
