Master Kimura's seminarIIn the month when the Japanese go out in parks to enjoy the beauty of blossoming sakuras, just before the Czech "spring celebration" a seminar of the Way of Tea was hold. The week full of tea was lectured by the indefatigable Master Kimura Sokei from the London Urasenke branch. Since 13 to 17 April a group of about 20 Czech and Japanese enthusiasts could try different types of tea preparation - from the very basis to the advanced level. What was certainly unusual and therefore very interisting was the opportunity to learn the traditional way of preparation of the fireplace and ashes which are the basis for coals used to warm water for making tea. The Master Kimura's lecture about history, shapes and materials used for tea tools was a great contribution, too. The students learned during theses five days a lot of new things and now they are looking forward to further similar seminars in the future. | |
